What’s better than a tea party? A hybrid tea rose party! 

This might just be the most classic and iconic flower of all time, and as such, deserves a little celebration. It has layer after layer of gorgeous petals, giving any arrangement more texture and depth and straight up elegance. 

You know how many beautiful varieties a tea rose can come in if you’ve ever had the opportunity to walk through a rose test garden—or wasted an afternoon Googling rose images. We, unfortunately,  have no room to judge when it comes to that.

This is one of the reasons our little paper florist hearts thump with delight when we get the opportunity to make a rose. The color possibilities alone are enough to make your head spin. Orange petals tipped in pink! White veined with red! A burgundy so deep and velvety it should almost be edible!

Hybrid tea roses are so classic that you’re going to get asked to make one (or ten dozen) very early on in your paper florist career. You need to be able to create them with confidence. 

To do that, we are teaching how to make three forms of tea roses in our Awesome Blossom! workshop. You’ll learn how to adapt techniques to make buds, a tight rose, and a full on blooming beauty.  

Our workshop series is all about teaching you a process, not just creating one off pieces. We want you to learn new skills that can be slightly adjusted for different flowers later on. We’ll create burgundy-merlot-aubergine colored roses in our class (it’s okay to drool—we know they sound divine), but we’ll help you understand how to use those coloring techniques for much more than one bloom.
